Information for schools

If you would like Girls’ Self Defence Project courses at your school contact one of our self defence teachers closest to your area to apply for a fully funded course. (The self defence teacher and the school will jointly apply). Proposals for courses are considered by a national approval group on a 6 monthly basis.

Courses to be held in Terms 1 or 2 need to have applications completed by October of the previous year. Courses to be held in Terms 3 or 4 need to have applications completed by May of the same year.

Schools can apply for a maximum of 4 courses per approval round. As funding is limited, not all applications will be approved.

Note
  • Generally, the minimum class size is 14 with a maximum of 26 per course
  • The school is responsible for providing and appropriate teaching space
  • Girls must be timetabled out of other activities for the duration of the self defence course.

The school also has the option of paying for self defence courses for girls of any age at your school.
